Split #7 — the solution

The three rounds from October 6, 2026: twelve numbers each, split into four groups of three that add to the target — the one way each round allows, with its decoys and where the reasoning starts.

Round 1 — target 29

The numbers: 4, 3, 11, 14, 17, 1, 7, 6, 13, 2, 20, 18. 2 decoys.

The groups: 4 + 7 + 18, 3 + 6 + 20, 11 + 17 + 1, 14 + 13 + 2.

The decoys — triples that add to 29 but are not in the answer: 4 + 11 + 14; 7 + 2 + 20.

Where to start: 3, 17, 1, 6, 13 and 18 sit in only one on-target triple, so their groups are certain — start there.

Round 2 — target 31

The numbers: 11, 17, 9, 1, 19, 18, 7, 4, 20, 6, 2, 10. 5 decoys.

The groups: 11 + 1 + 19, 17 + 4 + 10, 9 + 20 + 2, 18 + 7 + 6.

The decoys — triples that add to 31 but are not in the answer: 11 + 18 + 2; 9 + 18 + 4; 1 + 20 + 10; 19 + 2 + 10; 7 + 4 + 20.

Where to start: 17 and 6 sit in only one on-target triple, so their groups are certain — start there.

Round 3 — target 29

The numbers: 17, 19, 8, 7, 4, 16, 5, 14, 12, 3, 9, 2. 6 decoys.

The groups: 17 + 7 + 5, 19 + 8 + 2, 4 + 16 + 9, 14 + 12 + 3.

The decoys — triples that add to 29 but are not in the answer: 17 + 8 + 4; 17 + 3 + 9; 19 + 7 + 3; 8 + 7 + 14; 8 + 16 + 5; 8 + 12 + 9.

Where to start: 2 sits in only one on-target triple, so its group is certain — start there.
