Terms of use
Short, because the site is small and free. Using Noggin means agreeing to what is below.
The short version
- Play as much as you like. It costs nothing and needs no account.
- Do not attack the site, scrape the puzzle bank, or automate play.
- The puzzles and the words on this site belong to Noggin.
- It is a puzzle site run by one person, offered as it is, with no guarantee it will be up tomorrow.
Using the site
Noggin is free to play and no account is required. You may play the puzzles, share your score, and link to any page here.
Please do not:
- Try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its database.
- Collect the puzzle banks in bulk. The puzzles are served one day at a time on purpose, and requesting days you are not on is refused.
- Automate play, or submit results that a person did not actually earn. Scores are meant to be comparable between friends, which only works if they are real.
- Use the feedback form or the sign-in email to send anyone unwanted mail.
Accounts
Signing in is optional and exists so your scores survive a lost or replaced phone. There is no password — a link and a short code are emailed to you, both expire in fifteen minutes and work once.
You are responsible for the email account that receives that link: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You can sign out of a device from the menu, and you can ask for your account and every score on it to be deleted at any time by emailing admin@noggin.games.
An account may be removed if it is used to attack the site or to submit results that were not genuinely played.
What belongs to whom
The puzzles, the puzzle banks, the game designs, the written pages and the Noggin name and logo belong to Noggin and may not be republished or redistributed without permission. You are welcome to share a screenshot or a score.
Anything you send through the feedback form may be used to fix or improve the site. It is stored as described in the privacy policy.
Advertising
Noggin does not currently show ads. It intends to introduce them, and when that happens the privacy policy will say exactly what that means for your data before any of it goes live. There will be ways to turn ads off.
No guarantees
Noggin is offered as it is. It is a puzzle site built by one person in their own time, not a service with an uptime commitment. It may be unavailable, lose data, change, or stop entirely, and nothing here is a promise that it will not.
Puzzle content is checked as carefully as one person can manage and is sometimes wrong. If you spot an error, tell us — that is genuinely the fastest way it gets fixed.
To the extent the law allows, Noggin is not liable for any loss arising from using it or from being unable to use it. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
These terms may change. The date below says when they last did, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.
