Split #11 — the solution

The three rounds from October 10, 2026: twelve numbers each, split into four groups of three that add to the target — the one way each round allows, with its decoys and where the reasoning starts.

Round 1 — target 26

The numbers: 13, 11, 3, 2, 10, 9, 20, 1, 8, 17, 4, 6. 3 decoys.

The groups: 13 + 3 + 10, 11 + 9 + 6, 2 + 20 + 4, 1 + 8 + 17.

The decoys — triples that add to 26 but are not in the answer: 13 + 11 + 2; 13 + 9 + 4; 3 + 17 + 6.

Where to start: 10, 20, 1 and 8 sit in only one on-target triple, so their groups are certain — start there.

Round 2 — target 32

The numbers: 20, 1, 17, 15, 8, 10, 3, 6, 5, 16, 18, 9. 4 decoys.

The groups: 20 + 3 + 9, 1 + 15 + 16, 17 + 10 + 5, 8 + 6 + 18.

The decoys — triples that add to 32 but are not in the answer: 17 + 6 + 9; 15 + 8 + 9; 10 + 6 + 16; 5 + 18 + 9.

Where to start: 20, 1 and 3 sit in only one on-target triple, so their groups are certain — start there.

Round 3 — target 30

The numbers: 10, 14, 6, 4, 19, 16, 7, 2, 13, 17, 9, 3. 6 decoys.

The groups: 10 + 4 + 16, 14 + 13 + 3, 6 + 7 + 17, 19 + 2 + 9.

The decoys — triples that add to 30 but are not in the answer: 10 + 14 + 6; 10 + 7 + 13; 10 + 17 + 3; 14 + 7 + 9; 4 + 19 + 7; 4 + 17 + 9.

Where to start: 16 and 2 sit in only one on-target triple, so their groups are certain — start there.
