Grow #3 — the solution
The tree from October 3, 2026: five rows, three letters to seven, each row the one before plus one letter — a Mean day.
The words
| Row | Letters | The word, and what else the row accepts |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | R D O | ROD also DOR, ORD |
| 2 | +E | RODE also DERO, DOER, DORE, REDO, ROED |
| 3 | +B | BORED also BORDE, ORBED, ROBED |
| 4 | +R | BORDER |
| 5 | +A | BROADER also ARBORED, BOARDER, REBOARD |
Row by row
Any real word of a row’s letters counts, so the word in bold is only the one the Hint spells — the commonest. Each step below is read from that word to the next.
- ROD. The three letters were dealt as R, D, O. DOR and ORD are accepted too.
- RODE. Add E: E goes on the end of ROD. DERO, DOER, DORE, REDO and ROED are accepted too.
- BORED. Add B: the letters of RODE have to move. BORDE, ORBED and ROBED are accepted too.
- BORDER. Add R: the letters of BORED have to move. No other word fits.
- BROADER. Add A: the letters of BORDER have to move. ARBORED, BOARDER and REBOARD are accepted too.
