Split #13 — the solution
The three rounds from October 12, 2026: twelve numbers each, split into four groups of three that add to the target — the one way each round allows, with its decoys and where the reasoning starts.
Round 1 — target 34
The numbers: 10, 1, 15, 2, 4, 16, 6, 20, 17, 19, 12, 14. 3 decoys.
The groups: 10 + 4 + 20, 1 + 19 + 14, 15 + 2 + 17, 16 + 6 + 12.
The decoys — triples that add to 34 but are not in the answer: 1 + 16 + 17; 2 + 20 + 12; 4 + 16 + 14.
Where to start: 10, 15, 6 and 19 sit in only one on-target triple, so their groups are certain — start there.
Round 2 — target 29
The numbers: 7, 4, 20, 11, 12, 10, 17, 19, 6, 2, 3, 5. 5 decoys.
The groups: 7 + 19 + 3, 4 + 20 + 5, 11 + 12 + 6, 10 + 17 + 2.
The decoys — triples that add to 29 but are not in the answer: 7 + 20 + 2; 7 + 12 + 10; 7 + 17 + 5; 4 + 19 + 6; 20 + 6 + 3.
Where to start: 11 sits in only one on-target triple, so its group is certain — start there.
Round 3 — target 33
The numbers: 16, 17, 10, 11, 15, 7, 4, 14, 12, 6, 19, 1. 7 decoys.
The groups: 16 + 11 + 6, 17 + 15 + 1, 10 + 4 + 19, 7 + 14 + 12.
The decoys — triples that add to 33 but are not in the answer: 16 + 10 + 7; 17 + 10 + 6; 17 + 4 + 12; 10 + 11 + 12; 11 + 15 + 7; 15 + 4 + 14; 15 + 12 + 6.
Where to start: 19 and 1 sit in only one on-target triple, so their groups are certain — start there.
