Round by round
A round scores 100 for a guess within a small margin of the truth and falls in a straight line to 0 for a wild one; the day is the average of the five. The pictures are the game — these are the figures behind them.
- Ratio. By area, the big circle is how many of the small one? The big circle is 3.05 times as wide as the small one, and area goes as the square of the width: 3.05 × 3.05 is 9.3.
- Mix. What percent of the dots are purple? 97 of the 121 dots were purple and 24 were not: 80%.
- Meet. If these two lines carried on, where would they meet? The lines meet at 64°, after carrying on 1.2 and 1.0 times their drawn lengths.
- Angle. Make a 144° angle. The angle to make was 144°, 54° past a right angle.
- Center. This arc is part of a circle. Where is its center? The arc was 159° of its circle, 44% of the way round. The shorter the arc, the less it says about its center.
